My Approach to Therapy
Stacey Devening is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and phase-of-life transitions. She supports clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change.
Stacey’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. She believes therapy should feel both supportive and practical, helping clients gain insight into patterns while building tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and feel more confident in daily life.
She specializes in working with trauma and understands how unprocessed experiences can show up in everyday functioning—impacting mood, relationships, self-worth, and the ability to feel present or at ease. Stacey helps clients safely process these experiences, reduce distress, and reconnect with a greater sense of stability and control.
She also works with anxiety and life transitions, with a particular interest in relationship patterns, emotional regulation, and identity development across adulthood. She enjoys helping clients navigate changes such as career shifts, aging, evolving relationships, and redefining their sense of self.
Her goal is to help clients feel more grounded, resilient, and empowered—both in how they understand their past and how they move forward. Together, she works with clients to reduce distress, strengthen coping skills, and create a greater sense of clarity, balance, and self-trust.
Stacey is trained in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-informed Care, and she tailors these approaches to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
