Licensed Psychotherapist in Long Beach

Psychotherapist~ Children, Adolescents, Adults Individuals, Couples, Families, Groups

I am a Licensed Psychotherapist who has experience for over 30 years. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. My career began in public child welfare where I developed a deep understanding of the trauma related stressors of the children and in turn worked very closely with their parents/caregivers to develop strategies to best mitigate the stressors. In working with parents and caregivers, I deeply understand the challenges of parenting, relationships and achieving one’s goals.
I believe that psychotherapy provides individuals with the opportunity to better understand themselves through insight. It is my hope that the insights will assist them in living their best life. I look forward to meeting you.

Specialties Experience:

Anxiety
It is no wonder that so many people struggle with racing thoughts in their heads. Shutting down our heads in order to be present for all that life has to offer us is the goal of psychotherapy.

Depression

Life has a way of getting all of us down. There is depression that we experience due to psycho social stressors overwhelming our mind and body. Distinguishing between clinical depression and just feeling overwhelmed with life is an assessment that only a Licensed Mental Health Professional like myself can assist you with.

Life Balance

Understanding how to balance the demands of life, school and work is an ongoing struggle for all of us. Together we can sort out these demands and how best to prioritize.

Anger Management

Anger is not a bad feeling. It is how we manage and deal with our anger that can create problems for us. If you are struggling to manage your anger, I can assist with identifying positive ways to manage so that you can reduce any conflict that may be resulting due to difficulties managing anger.

Parenting

Today’s society provides parents with extremely unique challenges. With families home together more due to COVID, too much togetherness can create more conflict. My goal is to help parents and families develop positive strategies to grow and prosper together.

Divorce

The loss of the dream of the happily ever after marriage can be devastating. Understanding how to navigate your feelings and the divorce process is the goal of psychotherapy.

Adolescence

As hormonal changes happen in an adolescent body, psychological challenges can arise. Peer relationships are a priority for adolescents. Making sure these relationships are positive is a priority. Psychotherapy can help an adolescent navigate this time of transitioning to independence.

Adoption

Establishing a stable self concept can be challenging when we do not know our biological parents. Psychotherapy can help adopted children and adults with these challenges.

Women’s issues

Helping women to achieve life fulfillment with the many roles they juggle is most important. Psychotherapy helps women to define their boundaries and achieve success.

Men’s Issues

Men have unique struggles with the demands of our society. Figuring out how to communicate your needs to your loved ones and employer may be your goal. Understanding what your needs are is the goal of psychotherapy.

Couples Therapy

A couple can struggle with communication and intimacy. A psychotherapist can help with reducing conflict around these concerns.

Substance Abuse

The use of substances to manage the stress of life is challenging. Psychotherapy provides support and encouragement to navigate these challenges.

Trauma

Childhood trauma affects our everyday life. We have to delve deeply into ourselves to find the strengths within ourselves in order to overcome those challenges. I have extensive experience providing support and understanding resulting from trauma.
